There are a variety of free programmes designed to give users some protection.

(Be careful with any downloads you place on your computer for obvious reasons, and also be careful you do not accidently become diverted to a fee paying product).

Anti Virus

Google Chrome is said by many to be a safer internet browser.

Kaspersky  (Free to Barclays Bank customers).- Anti Virus.

Sophos  Free Anti Virus for Mac

BT Broadband  Online protection Free to BT Customers on certain contracts.

Spybot Free – Anti spy product.

C Cleaner  Free -Cleans & improves computer performance.

Hudle Anti Theft & Virus information from BT. (Many of the products are available on other tablets)

Antivirus software isn’t the only protection your computer needs. If you don’t have a firewall, you’re leaving all your files and sensitive information vulnerable. One way it has been Described is as follows-

Antivirus = the border patrol checking what’s allowed in.

Firewall = the  fence stopping it getting there in the first place.
